UDHAMPUR, Nov 2: Daily wagers and need based employees of district Irrigation Department today held a protest against the Government for not releasing their pending salaries.
A large number of daily wagers and need based employees under the banner of Work Supervisors Welfare Association (Irrigation), Udhampur staged a protest at district Irrigation office complex.
The protesting employees raised anti-Government slogans demanding release of their pending salaries before Diwali, the festival of lights.
Tariq Shah, president, Work Supervisors Welfare Association, alleged that the daily wagers and need based workers of the department are without from last six to two and half years due to which they they are suffering a lot, as the festival season is going on.
He appealed the Government to release the pending wages of the employees before Diwali so that they can also celebrate festival without any bothering.
