Employees continue protest as talks with JU authorities remain inconclusive

JAMMU, Mar 10: As talks between agitating employees and JU authorities failed following the Unions’ rejection of the agreement already prepared by the latter on their own, the protest demonstration on the campus continued for the 8th consecutive day today.
Despite heavy rains, the agitating employees assembled below old administration block and staged a dharna for four hours.
The executive body of NGEU and JUNTEU apprised the employees about the meeting with the authorities, which remains inconclusive and the rejection of the agreement.
Speakers on the occasion,  while reiterating their demands, also highlighted many other issues like overtime/remuneration rates in Jammu University for Non Teaching and Non Gazetted Employees, great difference of grants for Welfare Fund for employees of  Jammu University and Kashmir University, redressal of complaint of employees, one time grant for repair of family quarters,  work culture in JU,  Rs 2750 grade case of Non Gazetted employees, restoration of Assistant Registrar position for before 1986 cases, implementation of court order of  on Rs 6500-10500 pay scale, case of Human Genetics employees etc.
The agitating employees took a strong note of the comments of Vice Chancellor on his facebook account and appealed him to focus on welfare of the institution and take necessary steps to change some officers in Administration.
