Eleven injured as mini-bus rolls down

JAMMU, Oct 27: Eleven passengers were injured when a speeding mini-bus rolled down the road in Mishriwala area of city outskirts.
“The mishap occurred this morning at about 10:30 due to rash and negligent driving by the driver of the vehicle,” a police official said. He said that the mini-bus bearing registration number JK02BE-2589 was on its way from Maheshpura (Jammu) to Sua Number 01 (Rajpura) when mishap occurred.
He said that no casualty was reported in the accident but 11 passengers of the vehicle were injured. They were identified as Shivani (16) daughter of Raj Kumar of Mishriwala, Rani Devi (45) wife of Sudershan of Barnai, Nirmala (45) wife of Raghubir Kumar of Barnai, Kamlesh Kumari (42) wife of Raj Kumar of Garhi, Surishta Kumari (45) wife of Baldev Kumar of Batehra, Renu Verma (53) wife of Surinder Gupta of Talab Tillo, Gaganjot Singh (17) son of Satpal Singh of Pandorian, Nitika (16) daughter of Raj Kumar of Pandorian, Veena Devi (40) wife of Yashpal of Purkhoo, Gurpreet Singh (16) son of Jagjit Singh of Mishriwala and an unknown woman of age about 60 years.
“All the injured persons were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for treatment while a case FIR number 166/2020 under Sections 279/337 IPC was registered in this connection at police station Kanachak,” the official said, adding, the vehicle involved in the mishap was also seized.
