JAMMU, Oct 27: Chowki Choura Police foiled bovines smuggling bid by rescuing 19 cattle.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Chowki Choura Police led by SI Ankuj Bhagat laid a naka and intercepted a container bearing registration number HR55K-7439.
During checking, police team rescued 19 bovine animals from the vehicle and seized it, while the cattle smuggler(s) managed to escape by taking benefit of the darkness.
A case under relevant sections has been registered at Akhnoor Police Station and investigation started.
