Electronic goods damaged in 39 houses at Vijaypur

JAMMU, Feb 19: Several electronic gadgets were damaged as an electric wire fell on the houses at village Gadwal in Vijaypur area of Samba district this morning. Some cattle also perished in the incident.
Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Vijaypur SS Samyal said they have got reports that a total of 39 houses have been affected with the falling of electric wire at village Gadwal.
Electronic goods in almost all the houses were damaged, he said, adding that some cattle have also perished.
Mr Samyal said he along with SHO Vijaypur Mohammad Iqbal rushed to the spot soon after getting the report of damage.
He added that damage caused to the public property has been assessed.
The electronic gadgets in the house of Sham Sharma, PRO of former Minister and MLA Vijaypur Surjit Singh Slathia have also been damaged.
A total of 39 houses have been badly affected. Police was investigating the aspects of negligence in the incident.
