Electric employees hold protest in support of demands

JAMMU, Feb 29: A protest demonstration was held by J&K Central Non Gazetted Electric Employees Union (CNGEEU) in front of Press Club here, today under the leadership of its Jammu district president, Chinlamani Singh Jamwal.
The Jammu district body members of the Union and other office bearers of provincial level and State level participated in the protest.

The protestors raised slogans in support of their demands. They were demanding regularization of all pending permanent daily wagers of the Department under SRO 381 especially from Jammu and Kathua districts who are facing disparity since long, preparation of Online Record (NIC) of all need based workers and casual laborers of the Department within one month, implementation of SRO 588, SRO 59 ad SRO 149 in J&K UT without adopting any pick and chose policy, formation of training centers in both Jammu and Kashmir regions for non technical employees and workers and providing of the modern safety tools and banning purchase of Sub Standard equipments and machinery for ensuring safety of the employees.
The protestors also demanded inclusion of PDL and TDL daily wagers into SRO 43 and Power Employees Welfare Committee by amendment of its rules and regulations. Besides, providing of junior assistants grades to matriculate orderlies, chowkidars, PDL, TDL employees under the provision of SRO 381 and all the lower grade employees in the pay scale of 2550-3200 & 2610-3540 pre-revised who have been working from past 20 years should be provided with proper designation and grade 3050-4910 (pre-revised technical grade).
Those Union leaders who participated in the protest included Mohammad Afzal Bhat, its State president, Parshotam Sharma, State general secretary, Gurnam Singh Slathia , provincial president of the Union, Surjeet Khajuria, provincial secretary, Umar Bhat , provincial president Kashmir, Mohammad Altaf Manhas , organizer, Viney Kumar, Didar Singh, Sampooran Singh, Raj Kumar Sharma, Pardeep Singh Jamwal, Shashi Singh Slathia, Arun Kumar and Yudhvir Sharma.
