Sir,
There is no need to delay elections in the Jammu & Kashmir State in view of the prevailing situation in the State. The delay would only confound the confusion as exists today.
Imposing Governor’s rule in case election are not held well in time is not going to do any good to people.
There is every lkelihood that new Government may address the issues with new zeal and zest. The State experienced widespread devastation during recent floods. Many people lost their lives while property work crores got damaged. The State has to be rebuilt anew.
The Election Commission is ready to conduct elections, so is Army. It is reported that Army is ready to ensure a safe environment for conduct of Assembly elections whenever the Election Commission fixes the dates for the polls.
It is now upto all political parties in the State to get ready for polls. They should unanimously press for elections whenever they have interaction with Election Commission members.
Yours etc…
Amit Kumar
