JAMMU, Oct 20: A 70-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide today in Bakshi Nagar area of city outskirts.
“Shashi Kala wife of late Kuldeep Chand, resident of Bakshi Nagar near Geeta Bhawan, consumed some poisonous substance this morning at her residence following which she was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where she expired at about at 12:40 PM,” Police sources said.
They said after getting conducted postmortem, the body of the deceased was handed over to her family members for last rites while a Bakshi Nagar police had initiated inquest proceedings in the case. As per preliminary investigation, sources said, the deceased woman was in depression for quite some time.
