Elderly civilian dies in Pak firing on LoC, Indian Army retaliates

JAMMU: An elderly civilian died in unprovoked firing by Pakistan on the Line of Control in Nowshera sector of Rajouri district.

However Indian Army effectively retaliated to the cross border firing.

“Pakistani Army on Wednesday afternoon initiated unprovoked firing in Nowshera Sector resulting in fatal casualty of one civilian identified as Bodh Raj (55), resident of Deeing in Nowshera Tehsil,” defence spokesman here said.

He said that Indian Army immediately evacuated the injured for medical aid however, the individual succumbed to his injuries.

“Own troops replied to the Pak belligerence in a befitting manner,” he said. (AGENCIES)
