EJAC delegation calls on GAD Secy

SRINAGAR, July 6: A delegation of Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) called on Commissioner/ Secretary, General Administration Department, Manoj Kumar Divedi at Civil Secretariat Srinagar.
The delegation was led by the president, Fayaz Ahmad Shabnam. In the meeting, almost all the issues faced by the employees’ of different departments of J&K UT were discussed. Shabnam said that the employees are working with zeal and the reason behind is the cordial atmosphere between the administration and employees. The delegation presented a charter of demands before the Commissioner/ Secretary.
The main issues/ demands of the employees included, regularization of all types of temporary workers including daily wagers, casual labourers, seasonal workers; implementation of Minimum Wages Act in favour of all temporary workers; regulation of the services of CAMPA workers and release of their salaries for a full calendar year instead of six months; resolution of the pay anomaly of all employees working in the pre-revised grade of 6500-10500 and granting them a pre revised grade of 7450-225-11500 on the analogy of Section Officers vide SRO 259 dated 18/07/2007 and Assistant Accounts Officers; enhancement of the retirement age of employees employed in CENTAUR from 58 to 60 years and settlement of all pending issues vide order number 406 dated 03/05/2021; issuance of strict instructions to all the head of the departments of JK to conduct Departmental Promotion Committees (DPC’s) meetings on quarterly basis so that the employees can avail promotions on their due time; do away with DPC and Vigilance clearance for In-situ promotion cases.
Implement ACP (Assured Career Progression) and wrest the control of JKBOSE to the officials/officers of parent department viz School Education Department; regulation of Teachers’ Welfare Fund; revival of Public Sector Units by providing unconditional financial assistance; regularization of contingent paid employees as per SRO 308.
The Comm/Secy listened to the issues patiently and assured the delegation that these issues would be taken up on fast track basis.
Those who formed a part of delegation were Mohammad Akbar Khan, Altaf Hundu, Tariq Ahmad Sofi, Bashir Ahmad Thoker, Meer Fayaz, and Mohammad Irshad Bajran.
