JAMMU, Sept 22: Jammu Police today achieved a major success by arresting eight drug peddlers from different areas and recovering 28 grams of heroin and a cash amount of Rs 2.5 lakh from their possession.
The recoveries were made by the police at three nakas. While 17 grams of heroin, a cash amount of Rs 2.5 lakh and a weighing machine was recovered by a team of Police Station Bagh-e-Bahu, 5 grams of heroin was recovered by Pounichak Police and 6 grams of heroin was recovered in the jurisdiction of Police Station Bishnah.
The team of Bagh-e-Bahu led by SHO Inspector Sikander Singh while on naka duty at Bravo/3 naka rounded up four suspects who were on their way from Sidhra towards Narwal in a vehicle bearing registration number PB08EP-1010.
During search, 17 grams of drugs, a cash amount of Rs 2.5 lakhs and a weighing machine was recovered from the possession of accused identified as Raman Deep Singh son of Balwinder Singh, resident of Model Town (Jalandhar), Daleep Kumar son of Dheeraj Kumar and Pappu son of Kamal Parsad, both residents of Behrai (UP) and at present living in Jyoti Nagar (Jalandhar), and Som Nath son of Harbans Lal, resident of Mithapur (Jalandhar).
In this regard, a case FIR number 94/22 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Bagh-e-Bahu and all the accused arrested.
Similarly, at another naka in Pounichak area, a police team led by I/c Police Post Pounichak PSI Nitish Khajuria rounded up one suspect identified as Shubam Kumar son of Nanak Chand of Raipur Jagir (Marh) and on search, recovered 5 grams of heroin from his possession. In this regard, a case FIR Number 329/2022 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Domana and the accused arrested.
At Bishnah, a Police team led by SHO Police Station Bishnah Inspector Vikram Sharma during naka checking at Kothey Chorli (Bishnah) rounded up three suspects who were going from Chak Waziroo towards Bishnah on motorcycle bearing registration number JK21E-0756. During search, 6 grams of heroin was recovered from their possession.
In this regard a case FIR number 165/2022 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Bishnah and all the three accused identified as Vishal Sharma son of Ashok Kumar of Bhatyari (Bishnah), Sahil Choudhary son of Darshan Lal of Palli (Bari Brahmana) and Parveen Kumar son of Naresh Kumar of Upper Kanhal (Bishnah), arrested.
