Educational institutions observe World Labour Day with enthusiasm

JAMMU, May 1: Various educational institutions observed World Labour Day with enthusiasm and zeal.
The NSS Wing of Government Polytechnic, Bikram Chowk observed the World Labour’s Day. The chief guest of the function was Er Arun Bangotra, Principal of the college. A cultural programme was organized by students of NSS, in which all the Class IV workers and labour class of the college participated and enthralled the audience with various dance items, singing etc. The games were organized like passing the parcel etc. At the end of the program all the labours were facilitate with a memento as a token of appreciation. Er Ajay Thapa, Programme Officer of NSS Wing, Er Inderjeet Singh, Er KS Manhas, Er KS Bhatia along with other HoDs and staff member of the college were also present. The student volunteers who organised the programme were Arjun Rajput, Mahima Sharma and Himanshu Badyal of 2nd semester.
NSS Wing of MC Khalsa College of Education observed Labour Day. A very informative presentation was delivered by Principal of the College Dr Madhu Singh. Twenty five labourers working in the adjacent areas of the college were honoured for their services.
Presentation Convent Senior Secondary School, Gandhi Nagar observed International Labour Day by felicitating the Class IV and working class members of the institution. S Rosamma, Principal threw light on the importance of the day. Students presented cultural items.
Labour Day in Army Public School, Akhnoor was observed in special assembly with full aplomb to appreciate the tireless, hard working workers of this institution. Pradeep delivered a speech and the comparing was done by Talitha Philip. The junior students talked about ‘People who help us’ prepared by Jaswinder Kour and the senior school students presented a skit ‘Salaam Majdoor ‘ which was prepared by Vini Singh. Principal KCS Mehta distributed a small token of appreciation on behalf of Chairman Brig Rajendra Joshi and honoured the workers of this institution. Principal addressed the students and highlighted the need, importance and significance of the role of these workers in our life.
International Labour Day was observed in Air Force School, Jammu on the theme “There is no work too big or small’. Gifts were distributed to the MTS. It was an endeavor on the part of the school to sensitize students towards all the members of the community. Vikesh Sandhal, Principal appreciated the efforts of all the MTS employees for undertaking all assigned task with painstaking excellence.
Labour Day was observed at Delhi Public School, Udhampur with full aplomb. The function kicked off with a speech welcoming the workers and acknowledging their hard work. The group song marked the beginning of the programme followed by a dance performance. The students with their rhythmic steps magnificently showcased their dancing skills. A speech by the Chairman of the school Dr JC Gupta (LMC) lauded the ceaseless efforts of the work force of these workers. Principal Bindu Sharma and Vice Principal Sucheta Gupta focused on the priceless contribution of the workers for the smooth functioning of the institution.
Labour Day was observed at KCGPS. On the occasion an entertaining and informative special Assembly was conducted by the students. The function kicked off with a speech welcoming the workers and acknowledging their hard work by Pooja Thakur followed by the speeches by the students of the junior and senior section. Musical rendition by the students created a mesmerizing ambience. Students with their rhythmic steps magnificently showcased their dancing skill. Kehar Singh, Manager Transport of the school was the chief guest on the occasion. Academic Director Vijay Puri appreciated their dedicated efforts in fulfilling the day by day tasks.
With enthusiasm and zeal Doon International School Jammu observed International Labour Day. The students presented a cultural show for all the class IV employees in a special assembly. Principal Vikesh Kaur said that all strata of society is handicapped without their valuable contribution. All the employees were felicitated with a token of appreciation by the management. Chairman GN Tantray and Vice Chairman MA Tantray were also present.
Little Flower Higher Secondary School observed Labour Day with full aplomb. The prayer marked the beginning of the programme followed by speech by Vice Principal S Malhotra. Students also presented speeches and recited poems. Management, Principal Meera Soni and staff members were also present.
Brigadier Khuda Baksh Memorial Public School Higher Secondary School observed International Labour Day. A tea party was organised in the Principal Office with all labours and peons working in the school and problems were also discussed, Principal SK Ali was also present. Students performed the duties of peons on the occasion. Administrative Shokat Javed, Vice Principal Ravinder Kour, Pranav Jha, HK.Sharma were also present.
RM Public School observed World Labour Day. On the occasion students and staff members organised a special assembly for the menial staff members. Students presented a melodious song dedicated to labours. Speeches were also made by the students of middle wing and students of pre-primary wing presented a skit on the different occupation of labour. Among others present were Shweta Gupta, Shivali Pathania, Mohit, Radhika and all the teachers of Pre-Primary Wing. Principal Ravinder Kour threw light on the importance of the day.
Jammu Sanskriti School observed International Labour Day by organizing a cricket match between students, staff, VS drivers and helping staff of the school. Special prizes in cash and refreshment were part of the celebration for the participants. Rohini Aima, Principal-cum-Vice Chairperson spoke about the importance of each and every member associated with the school. The whole programme was conducted by Rohail and Ravinder Singh.
Narulas–The First Step School observed World Labor Day with fervor and joy. The students were dressed up as skilled, unskilled and semi skilled labours for which prize were given to them. The helpers of the school were thanked for their continuous efforts towards the school. Tanvi Narula, Principal of the school honored the helpers with cash prizes.
