Educational Institutions celebrate I-Day with patriotic fervour

JAMMU, Aug 16: With great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor, the 70th Independence Day of India was celebrated by the educational institutions across Jammu province amidst hoisting of National Flag and organizing impressive cultural programmes.
During a function in this connection at Jammu University, Vice-Chancellor Prof R D Sharma unfurled the National Flag and released tri-colour balloons. JU Security Guards, led by Security Officer, Capt S R Dubey presented Guard of Honour while cultural items were presented by the wards of university employees. Besides Dean Students Welfare Prof Satnam Kour, JU faculty members and officers were also present on the occasion.
On the occasion of Independence Day, Central University of Jammu organized a colourful function both at Main Campus, Raya Suchani (Bagla) and Temporary Academic Block (TAB), Sainik Colony, Jammu.   Vice-Chancellor, Prof Ashok Aima, unfurled the National Flag at both the places. While addressing the gathering, the VC asked the stakeholders to fix accountability for them and work unitedly for the upliftment of the institution, which would be their real contribution to the society as well as the nation.
SKUAST-Jammu saluted the Nation and its freedom fighters on the occasion of 70th Independence Day at Main Campus Chatha where Dr Pardeep K Sharma, Vice Chancellor, hoisted the National Flag. It was followed by presentation of cultural items.    Besides, Director Research Dr J P Sharma, Dean Dr D P Abrol, Registrar Dr Dileep Kachroo, president Teaching Dr Vikas Sharma, all the faculty members and non teaching staff was present on the occasion.
In consonance with the theme declared by the Ministry of HRD – “Yaad-karo-qurbani”, SMVDU jubilantly observed 70th Independence Day. The National Flag was unfurled by Vice Chancellor Dr Sanjeev Jain while the students organized a fabulous cultural show in which the spirit of sacrifice and patriotism was portrayed through songs, group dances, skit and displayed their multifarious cultural and literary talent.
Government Polytechnic Bikram Chowk, Jammu celebrated Independence Day with great joy, fervour and enthusiasm in the college. On this occasion Er Ritu Jamwal, Principal of the college, unfurl the National Flag and threw light on the significance of this great day.
Dogra Group of Colleges celebrated Azadi Diwas in Bari Brahmana with great pomp and show. The Chairman of Dogra Educational Trust and former Minister of Higher Education,   Gulchain Singh Charak unfurled the national flag in the presence of students and the staff of Dogra Law College, Dogra College of Education and Dogra Degree College.
Independence Day was celebrated in Sant Mela Singh College of Education, Digiana Jammu wherein Chairman of the college, Prof Anmol Singh unfurled the National Flag while the Principal Dr Kiran Luthra threw light on importance of the day. The programme started with a patriotic song.
Swami Vishwatma Nand Saraswati Degree College, Chhan Arorian, Kathua, celebrated Independence Day celebrated Independence Day in the college premises, in which staff and students of Guru Gang dev Ji College of Education also participated. Principal of SVS Degree College hoisted National Flag amidst salute by NCC squad.
R M Public School and College of Education celebrated independence with great zest zeal. All the staff member and students of the institution took part in the function while chairman of R M Charitable Trust, Rameshwer Mengi hoisted the National Flag.
A function was organized at Chenab College of Education to celebrate 70th Independence Day. The National Flag was unfurled by R S Chib, former Minster and Chairman of the college. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Chib recalled the supreme sacrifices of the freedom fighters and also made particular reference of role of Army and security forces in defending frontiers of the Nation.
GGHSS Shastri Nagar celebrated Independence Day in the school premises wherein Principal Tahira Parveen Shawl unfurled the National Flag. It was followed by singing of National Anthem. Sweets were also distributed on the occasion.
The Independence Day was also celebrated at GHSS Bhour Camp, where Principal, Swaran Lata hoisted the National Flag. March past was taken out by the NCC cadets of the school. The cultural activities were also presented by the students.
A function in connection with Independence Day was organized at GHSS (Boys) Gandhi Nagar where Principal, Tahira Praveen unfurled the National Flag. Students gave cultural performances. The function ended with distribution of sweets among the students.
Government Model Higher Secondary School Domana celebrated Independence Day with great enthusiasm. Flag hoisting by the school Principal, Sandhra Malhotra, was followed by singing of National Anthem and presentation of cultural items by the students. Later, the students along with staff and Principal also took part in Independence Day celebration Government Higher Secondary School Bhalwal.
Government Higher Secondary School, Bahu Fort celebrated Independence Day in the school premises wherein Principal Anjli Gupta hoisted the National Flag. Students of the school presented colourful cultural items and patriotic songs on the occasion.
Delhi Public School (DPS), Jammu celebrated ‘Independence Day’ with gaiety and fervour. The programme started with flag hoisting ceremony by chief guest, SS Sodhi, Director of the school. This was followed by dances, songs and speeches by students as well as teachers.
The Independence Day was also celebrated at DPS Nagbani. The students shared their views on the importance of the Day. Principal of the school hoisted the National flag and advised the students to work hard and contribute in Nation building. The students presented speeches throwing light on the importance of the Day.
MHAC Nagbani celebrated Independence Day in the school campus. Principal, Alok Betab unfurled the National flag. Cultural bonanza was presented by students. A contingent of BSF band presented melodious patriotic songs.
Dogra Higher Secondary School, Shastri Nagar celebrated 70th Independence Day with great zeal and enthusiasm. Ghambir Dev Singh Charak, Managing Director of the school, graced the occasion and unfurled the National flag. A bouquet of cultural program was presented by students in the form of speeches, patriotic dance and poems.
Saluting the Nation and its freedom fighters on the eve of its 70th Independence Day, the management, staff and students of Guru Harikrishan Public School, Guru Nanak Nagar, Jammu showcased a colourful spectacle of India’s vision through their performance. Earlier, the function started with flag-hoisting ceremony followed by parade by the students.
Dream Land Public High School, celebrated “Independence Day” with great pomp and show. The students were given demo regarding this grand occasion. They actively participated in the celebration by singing group songs and a dance item. The students also delivered speeches regarding the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters.
JK Public Higher Secondary School celebrated Independence Day at School ground. Managing Director of the School, Manender Singh Bawa unfurled the National flag. The students presented beautiful dance performances. Sweets were distributed to all students.  Sanmati Vimal Jain Academy celebrated Independence Day with great enthusiasm. The celebrations began with unfurling of Tri-colour by Principal, Madan Lal Sharma. Thereafter, a beautiful patriotic dance-cum-skit was presented by the students.
At Govt. High School Marh (Zone Dansal) Jammu, the National Flag was hoisted by Sharda Kumari, Headmaster, whereas Noor Mohd. Sarpanch was the chief guest. The Staff of the School, VEC Members and other prominent persons of the locality were also present on the occasion.
Government Higher Secondary School Camp, Bohri Jammu, celebrated Independence Day with zeal and zest in the school premises. Principal Ramesh Kumar Hakim hoisted the National Flag amidst chanting of National Anthem. The school students presented cultural items during the programme, which was organized by the Department of Physical Education Department of the Institute.
Government Girls High School Pallanwalla celebrated Independence Day in the school premises where Headmaster Balwan Singh hoisted the National Flag. Students presented various items on the occasion while sweets were distributed among the participants.
Independence Day celebrations were observed in the premises of the Govt. High School Kotli Jijjan Zone Tikri (Udhampur), where Headmaster Manohar Lal unfurled the National Flag and took the salute. Students of the school presented an impressive March Past, Bhartiyam and colorful programme.  Students of the Govt. Middle School Upper Kotli also participated in the function.
70th Independence Day was celebrated in KNIT Green Model Academy Sangrampur, Jammu with traditional pomp and show in which Prof J L Kotwal was the chief guest and Bimla Baloria was the guest of honour Prof Kotwal unfurled the National Flag and took salute after which a cultural programme was held. Komal Kotwal. the Principal, presented vote of thanks.
At Govt HSS Ghoumanhasan, Principal J R Sharma unfurled the National Tricolour amid the chanting of national anthem. Besides students and staff, Army personnel from near by unit Lale Da Bagh, also participated in the event and distributed sweets among the students.
Independence Day was celebrated by Government Higher Secondary School, Jakh (Samba) wherein Principal Deepak Gupta hoisted National Flag in the presence of Sarpanch Madan Lal Sharma, Sarpanch Sukhjinder Singh and other members of VEC. March past was presented by NCC contingent of the school.
During Independence Day celebration at Government Higher Secondary School Durang (Billawar), Principal Kuldeep Kumar and senior advocate Varinder Kumar hoisted the National Flag. On the occasion, a cultural programme was also organized.
Govt Girls Higher Secondary School, Reasi celebrated 70th Independence Day with zeal and enthusiasm at school premises wherein a large number of school children and teachers participated.  B L Magotra, Principal of the school, hoisted the National Flag.
Rajanyaveer Public School, Peer Baba Morh, Satwari, celebrated Independence day by hoisting the National Flag.  Advocate Jasmeet Kour Pandey, Principal of the schools, spoke on the occasion and threw light on importance of the day.
At Government High School Dudu (Kirchi), the Independence Day was celebrated amidst hoisting of National Flag by Tehsildar Dudu in the presence of school Headmaster Wazir Mohd and others. Sweets were distributed on the occasion.
Government Middle School Kharodian, Udhampur, also organized Independence Day celebration programme wherein the school Headmaster Rajesh Sharma hoisted the National Flag.
Govt Middle School Bamyal (Zone Dansal) Jammu celebrated 70th Independence Day with great pomp and show. The National Flag was unfurled by Sarpanch Ram Singh in presence of Incharge of the School, Jagdish Raj and staff members.
Independence Day was celebrated in Govt Higher Secondary School Barta with zeal and enthusiasm. Principal of the school,   Layawantim hoist the tricolor and took the salute from different contingents of the students.
Govt Higher Secondary School Ghordi celebrated 70th Independence Day in school premises where Naib Tehsildar Gordhi hoisted the National Flag. The function was presided over by the Principal Rashpaul Singh. Cultural program was also presented by the students of the various schools in Ghordi. Prizes were also given to the students. Sarpanch Gordhi Bharat Bushan, Block Chowki Officer and BDO were also present on the occasion.
GHS Sullan celebrated Independence Day with great pump and show. The tricolor was unfurled by the school Headmaster Kali Dass. Cultural items were presented by the students.
Hari Singh Memorial Institute Sehora, Gol Gujral, celebrated 70th Independence Day with enthusiasm and patriotic fervour.  Dr R D Charak, Retd Joint Financial Commissioner, was chief guest on the occasion and he hoisted the National flag while students presented cultural items. Chairman of the Institute, Mandeep Singh along with staff and Principal, was also present on the occasion.
Government Higher Secondary School, Sohal (Akhnoor) celebrated Independence Day wherein Incharge Principal T R Sharma unfurled the National Flag in the presence of Ex- Sarpanch Niranjan Singh and VEC members.  After the programme, sweets were distributed among the participants.
Independence Day was celebrated in Government Middle School Saniote (Zone Tikri). The Headmaster Rajesh Tiku hoisted the National Flag and spoke on importance of the day. Sweets were also distributed on the occasion.
At Sesame Street Preschool, Talab Tillo, Jammu, kids dressed as freedom fighters celebrated Independence Day with full enthusiasm. Kids sang and danced on patriotic songs and recited the National Anthem.  The school premises was decorated with tricolour balloons, Rangoli and flags.
K S Public School Muthi, Jammu celebrated Independence Day by organizing an impressive function in the school premises. Students presented patriotic songs, based on freedom struggle while the school Principal Seema Malhotra exhorted the students to be a responsible citizen of India.
The student and staff of New Modern Academy, Chak Rakwala celebrated Independence Day in the school campus with great zeal. Tri-colour was unfurled by Principal, Sanjeev Kumar. The student presented a captivating cultural bonanza focused on patriotism.
Indira Priya Darshani Memorial High School, Krimachi saluted the Nation and its freedom fighters on the eve of 70th Independence Day, in the premises of the school. The occasion was marked by a cultural programme highlighting the unity and diversity of India. The Tricolor was hoisted by Shakuntla Devi, ZEO (Retd).
Independence Day was celebrated with true patriotic fervor at Dream Land Public School, Sial Jattan (Udhampur). Patriotic song ‘Aae mere vatan ke logon’ gave a kick start to the programme which was followed by speeches, songs, skits and dances.
A special assembly was conducted on the eve of Independence Day at Ambay Public School. Children sang beautiful patriotic songs and also spoke on sacrifices made by freedom fighters. The school management along with the school staff hoisted the National flag.
A colourful function to celebrate Independence Day was organized at Sunrise Public School, Channi Himmat. Sourav Tiwari, Commandant, CRPF, who was the chief guest, hoisted the National flag and National Anthem was sung by the students. A cultural programme was also organized.
Anuradha Mission School, Bantalab celebrated Independence Day with great patriotic fervor. AK Pandita, Principal of the School, hoisted the Tri-colour. Students presented cultural programmes. Later, sweets were distributed among the students.
Chinta Higher Secondary School also celebrated Independence Day and unfurled National Flag in the school premises. Incharge of the School, Meenakshi Kotwal, threw light on the importance of the Day. It was followed by presentation of cultural items by the students.
Raina Higher Secondary School, Paloura celebrated Independence Day by organizing colourful cultural programmes. Earlier, Principal, Ravinder Raina, unfurled the Tricolour. Sweets were distributed among the students.
The Day was also celebrated in the premises of Raina higher Secondary School, Chak Seri, where Principal, Mohit Raina, unfurled the National Flag.
The students, management and staff of Rich Harvest Shastri Nagar celebrated Independence Day by visiting Balidan Stambh, where RS Katal, Director, Samsung, told the students about the bravery of war heroes and significance of various bravery awards. The children also sang National Anthem.
National Model School, Kail Paldhai celebrated Independence Day with great enthusiasm. The celebrations began with unfurling of Tri-colour by Principal, Raj Rani Sambyal. Thereafter, a beautiful patriotic dance-cum-skit was presented by the students.
Today on the eve of Independence Day, a huge celebration was held in Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Dansal. About 14 schools participated in the function. Dances and various cultural performances were presented by the children. The Tri-colour was unfurled by Principal, Vijay Kumar, who reminded the children of the worthy sacrifices by the freedom fighters.
GHSS Muthi celebrated Independence Day in school premises with great zeal and enthusiasm. The National flag was unfurled by Principal, Geeta Bangotra. The students presented various cultural items.
The Independence Day celebrations were also held at GHSS Salmerhi. The students took march past. Local Sarpanch, Munshi Ram, who was the chief guest, unfurled the National Flag. Few colourful items were also displayed by the girl students of the school.
The Independence Day was also celebrated in the premises of GHSS Budhi (Kathua). Principal of the school unfurled the National flag. Students of the school displayed various colourful items including some skits. Some faculty members spoke on the occasion and highlighted the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters.
GHSS Jullaka Mohalla organized Independence Day celebrations at its school premises. The students participated in the programme and presented various cultural items. Earlier, Principal, Razia Chaudhary hoisted the National flag.
Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Thanamandi celebrated 70th Independence Day with great zeal. SDM Thanamandi hoisted the Tri-colour amidst chanting of National Anthem by the students. A cultural extravaganza was presented by the students. Various officials of civil administration were present on the occasion.
Independence Day was also celebrated in GHSS Channi Himmat. The students sang the National song ‘Vande Mataram’. Principal of the school, Shehnaz Choudhary unfurled the Tri-colour. The students performed a patriotic dance and sang many patriotic songs.
On the eve of Independence Day, GHSS Rabta organized a programme in its premises. Songs and skits on various topics were presented by the students. Earlier, Principal of the school, Ashok Kumar unfurled the Tricolour.
The Independence Day was also celebrated at GHSS Smailpur by unfurling National flag by Jagdeep Singh, NCC Incharge.
GHSS Gurha Slathian (Samba) celebrated Independence Day with great zeal. SK Verma, Principal of the school, hoisted the National flag. The children presented patriotic songs. Later, sweets were distributed among the students.
On the eve of Independence Day, GHSS Jandrah organized various cultural programmes in the school in which students participated with great zeal. Principal, Sunil Nanda, unfurled the National flag.
GGHSS Bakshi Nagar celebrated 70th Independence Day with great fervor. The celebrations started with hoisting of National Flag by Principal of the school. It was followed by colourful cultural programmes by the students.
GHSS Saruinsar also celebrated Independence Day. Principal, Neeru Sachar, hoisted the National Flag. Students as well as some teachers threw light on the importance of the day through their speeches.
The Independence Day was celebrated in a big way at GHSS Tikri, where adjoining schools also participated in the celebrations. Naib Tehsildar, Balwant Singh, who was the chief guest, unfurled the National Flag and took salute from the parade presented by NCC troops of the School. The students presented various cultural items depicting the rich cultural heritage of India.
The Independence Day celebrations were also held at GGHSS Kandoli Nagrota. Tehsildar Nagrota, Rafiq Ahmed Jaral, hoisted the National Flag in the presence of Principal, Santosh Kumari and staff as well as students of the school.
GHSS (Boys) Bakshi Nagar, celebrated Independence Day with great fervor, Principal, Rajni Kotwal, unfurled the Tricolour. Both students as well as teachers presented their views on this auspicious day.
On Independence Day, SDM Chowkichoura, Gurmukh Singh, unfurled National Flag and took salute. The students of the school presented a colourful cultural programme. Later, sweets were distributed among the students by Principal, Rita Gupta.
70th Independence Day was celebrated with enthusiasm by GHSS Jourian. Tehsildar Jourian, Dr Kusum Chib, hoisted the National Flag in the school premises. It was followed by presentation of skits, songs and dances by the students.
Independence Day was celebrated at Sainik School Nagrota with great patriotic spirit and fervour. The celebration was marked by ceremonial parade held at Major Somnath Sharma Stadium. Colonel Kapil Dev Kaushal, Principal, unfurled the tricolour and delivered an inspiring speech. The cadets also presented a colourful dance program at the show representing the tricolour in their specially designed attires.
Army Public School (APS), Udhampur celebrated the Independence Day. The celebrations began with the National Song, ‘Vande Matram’. To commemorate the sovereignty of our Nation, Col Jagdish Gadekar and the Principal, Sanjeev Kumar of the school unfurled the Tricolour. A skit was also presented by the students.
Independence Day was celebrated in KV Kathua with great enthusiasm. Principal, MK Tiwari unfurled the National Flag. The students and teachers in unison sang the National Anthem. Students presented speeches and cultural items. The programme ended with distribution of sweets among the students.
70th Independence Day was celebrated by APS BD Bari with a great gusto, mirth, joy and pride. The programme commenced in the school assembly ground with unfurling of National flag by Brig Deep Bhagat, SM, Chairman APS BD Bari. A cultural programme was presented by the students. The whole school was decorated in the hues of Tricolor.
Gaiety and patriotic fervor marked the 70th Independence Day Celebrations in Army Public School Jammu Cantt.  The school campus was gripped with passion and decorated with Tri colour balloons, ribbons and buntings, as students put their best foot forward to celebrate Independence Day.
Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Army Public School Jammu Cantt. The day started with the special assembly wherein Principal, Ratna Mallick gave a tribute to our freedom fighters. It was followed by inspiring speeches given by the some teachers. Students presented several cultural programmes. Later during the day the students were shown a movie on Kargil soldiers.
The Independence Day celebrations started at APS Akhnoor with unfurling National Flag by chief guest, Col UK Srivastava along with Principal, KCS Mehta. The students sang National Anthem and many patriotic songs.
Independence Day was celebrated with full zeal and enthusiasm in Pine Wood School Hamirpur, Pine Wood School Sabra and Tender Feet School Keri, all three Army Goodwill Schools being run as a part of Sadbhavna initiative of the Army. A variety of programmes that marked the celebration included flag hoisting, National Anthem by students, a motivational speech by chief guest and presentation of cultural programmes by the students.
A colourful function in connection with Independence Day was organized in the premises of Government High School (GHS) Kotli Tanda. Headmaster, Sajawat-ud-Din Bhat unfurled the National Flag. Later, sweets were distributed among the students.
The Independence Day was also celebrated at GHS Chowki Choura. The Tricolour was hoisted by Headmaster of the school. The students delivered speeches on the importance of the Day.
GHS Mathwar celebrated Independence Day with a lot of enthusiasm. Headmaster, Suram Singh, unfurled the National Flag. Cultural programmes were presented by the students.
At GHS Moud, the Independence Day was celebrated by hoisting Tricolour by Local Sarpanch, Mani Ram along with Headmaster, Yash Paul. The colourful cultural items were presented by the students.
GHS Qasim Nagar celebrated Independence Day by unfurling national Flag in its premises amidst chanting of National Anthem by the students. Students also presented patriotic songs.
Saluting the Nation and its freedom fighters on the eve of Independence Day, the staff and students of GHS Kawa marked the occasion by holding a unique march past highlighting the cultural diversity of India. Headmaster, Usha Gupta, unfurled the National Flag.
The Independence Day was celebrated at GHS Bhugterian with pomp and show. ZEO Ghordi, who was the chief guest, unfurled the National Flag. A cultural show was presented by the students.
Government Girls High School, Kachi Chowani, celebrated Independence Day with great zeal. Headmaster, Savita Padha hoisted the National Flag, which was followed by singing of National Anthem by the students. The students presented various cultural items.
The Independence Day was celebrated at GHS Aithem. The National Flag was unfurled by Headmaster, Anita Sharma in the presence of local Sarpanch, panches and students of the school. Later, sweets were distributed among the students.
The day was also celebrated with patriotic fervor by students and staff of GHS Digiana. The National flag was hoisted by Champa Gupta, Headmaster of the School. Songs, skits and speeches were also presented by the students.
GHS Kaleeth celebrated Independence Day with great enthusiasm. The function started with parade by the students followed by hoisting of National flag by Om Parkash Sharma, Headmaster of the School. Students sang National Anthem Cultural and presented cultural items.
GHS Keri also celebrated the Independence Day. Headmaster of the school hoisted the National Flag in the presence of students, staff as well as local people including Sarpanch and panches of the area. Sweets were distributed among the students.
On the eve of Independence Day, GHS Sarote organized various cultural programmes in its school premises. Earlier, Headmaster of the school, Kiran Mangotra, unfurled the National Flag. The speeches were also delivered by the students.
The 70th Independence Day was celebrated with great fervor by GHS Khanna Chhargal. Acting Headmaster, Nasreen Jan, unfurled the Tricolour and took the Guard of Honour from the marching students. A debate competition was also organized on the occasion.

Government Middle School (GMS), Patrari celebrated Independence Day with zeal and enthusiasm. Headmaster, Kewal Krishan, hoisted the National Flag. The students displayed various colourful items including skits, songs and speeches.
Government Girls Middle School, Patta Bohri, also celebrated Independence Day in its school premises. All the students and staff members participated in the programme. The Tricolour was hoisted by Headmaster of the school.
The day was also celebrated with enthusiasm at GMS (Boys), Nougran, where Headmaster of the school hoisted the Tricolour. The students sang national Anthem and various patriotic songs.
Lord Mahavira Play Way School, Shiv Nagar, organized a variety of programmes to celebrate the Independence Day. Little kids in costumes of freedom fighters reminded everybody of the high moral characters of our National heroes. With the hoisting of National flag by chief guest, Inspector Ashwani Kumar, SHO Bakshi Nagar, the sound of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ echoed in the atmosphere.
Govt High School Battal Ballian (Udhampur ) celebrated Independence Day.Headmaster of the School Shashi Kala Raina unfurled the flag in the School premises.Students of the school presented various cultural items.
