Educational institutions celebrate Christmas with fanfare

JAMMU, Dec 23: Various educational institutions celebrated Christmas with fanfare and enthusiasm.
Women Development Cell of Government College of Education celebrated Christmas and New Year. The programme began with the card making competition, in which students participated actively. The judgment was done by Prof Anju Bala, Prof Baljinder Kaur and Prof Surita Gupta. Jasmeet was adjudged first, whileas Nalini Rakwal claimed second position, Rahilla clinched third position and Komal bagged fourth position. This was followed by cake cutting ceremony by the Principal Prof Kaushal Samotra.
Earlier welcome address was delivered by Prof Dr Jyoti Parihar, Convener of the Cell. The students sang X-Mas carols and Prof Aksa Rao delivered special X-Mas message. The vote of thanks was presented by Prof Neelam Dhar and programme was coordinated by Prof Tahira Shah.
Bhartiya College of Education in collaboration with Bhaskar Paramedical College celebrated Christmas. The entire program was a story about the birth of ‘Jesus’. Madhu Khajuria, Chairperson of the College was the chief guest on the occasion, while Prof Sukham Chand, Principal, PL Suri, Principal Bhaskar Degree College and Dr Ved Gupta, Principal Bhaskar Paramedical College were among the other dignitaries present. The celebration began with the recital of prayer to adore the ‘Jesus Christ’. The programme ended with a vote of thanks by Principal of the College.
The winter carnival at KC Public School was abuzz with Christmas celebrations. A special programme was put up by the students of pre-primary and primary wing. A beautiful ambience was created with art and craft work done by the students. An array of displays comprising of stockings, snowflakes, reindeers, jingle bells, snow men and Santa Claus wafted magical spell. UKG students presented a Nativity play that tells the story of Jesus birth. The children also sang Christmas carols and danced to Christmas songs with great rejoicings. Other than that there was a fashion fiesta and Christmas cheer chants. Principal Amarendra Kumar Mishra and Headmistress Sofia Rana were also present.
Crescent Public School celebrated Christmas with great pomp and show. Santa Claus and angles were special attractions in the function. On the occasion, Crescentians performed colorful cultural items. Tiny tots of the school showcased the birth of Lord Jesus Christ, the Prince of peace, through their dance performance. On this occasion, Arshad Choudhary, Chairman, Pankaj Jamwal, Director and Bhavna Kaushal Principal of the school were present. In the end, Pankaj Jamwal addressed the students.
Delhi Public School, Jammu celebrated Christmas. The students participated in various programmes with great enthusiasm. The special assembly started with the holy prayer, followed by melodious carols, cultural bonanza, songs and carols in the praise of Mother Mary and Lord Christ, nativity scene presenting birth of the Christ, colourful salsa dance and moving skating dance. The dance performance of the tiny tots of class prep added glitter to the celebration. The presence of the Santa and snowman was the main attraction for the students and others. Headmistress Meenu Gupta and Principal, Ruchi Chabra addressed the students.
KC Gurukul Public School, Paloura celebrated Christmas. The celebration started with a special assembly in which the kids gave a demonstration depicting the birth of Jesus Christ. The toddlers were dressed up in Santa Claus and Fairies. Students sang Christmas Carols. Santa made a grand entry singing and dancing to the tunes of “Jingles Bells” and distributed sweets among the students. A Christmas party was organized in the classes by cutting the cake and a small dance party was also organized. Academic Director of the school, Vijay Puri highlighted the importance of the festival.
A special assembly was conducted in MHAC School, Nagbani to celebrate Christmas. A Christmas tree was put up in the school, decorated with small ornaments, stars and gifts. Christmas carols were sung by the school choir. Some of the students elaborated upon the teachings of Jesus and the importance of Christmas. Hundreds of young Children dressed as Santa Claus distributed sweets among the students. Large numbers of young girl students dressed up as fairies and angels, spread the warm and cherishable vibration in the entire school campus. Principal Alok Betab threw light on the importance of the festival.
Gandhi Memorial Higher Secondary School, RS Pura celebrated Christmas. Students attired as Santa Claus distributed gifts among the students and teachers. Dance and cultural programmes was also presented by the students. Raj Kumari, Secretary Management Committee of the school was the chief guest and Kewal Krishan, President of Lion Club RS Pura was guest of honour. Ved Prakash, retd ZEO RS Pura, Kulbir Singh, lecturer, Balbir Kour, Dali Sharma, Sudesh Sharma, besides many others were present on the occasion.
Nav Adarsh Higher Secondary School, Kathua celebrated Christmas.  Students danced on the tunes of Christmas songs. A poem recitation competition was also organised. Gandharb Singh Katal, Director Nav Adarsh was the chief guest. Renuka and Geetanjli adjudged the competition.
Sanatan Dharam Higher Secodnary Kanya Vidyalaya, Jhullaka Mohalla celebrated Christmas. All management committee members, Principal and the staff members of the school were present on the occasion. The students presented various cultural items.
Abhay Higher Secondary School, Muthi celebrated Christmas. The children of play way wing sang and danced on “jingle Bells” song. A debate competition was also organized. Principal and staff members threw light on the importance of the day.
JK Montessorie Senior Secondary School and its affiliated unit JK Little Milliennium International Pre- School celebrated Christmas. Students were dressed in colourful costumes depicting the roles of “Fairy” and “Santa”. On the occasion, a poster card making competition and fancy dress contest were organized. Teachers enlightened the students about significance of the day in morning assembly and a show displaying birth of Jesus Christ was also presented by the students of different classes. The students participated in “Dance Dhamaka” contest. Managing Director of the school Sanjeev Gupta, Director Academics Rajni Gupta, Vice Principal Geeta Dixit and Coordinator Vandana Gupta were also present on the occasion.
Sri Guru Gobind Singh Public Higher Secondary School, Kunjwani celebrated Christmas. The celebration was marked by a Carol singing competition. The children staged a play depicting the life of Jesus Christ and his message to mankind. The true values and ethics of Christmas were also highlighted by the children. The function was supervised by the School Administrator Charanjeet Kour. Chairman of the school, Harbans Singh threw light on the importance of the festival.
SM Shishu Niketan Higher Secondary School, Anand Nagar, Patta Bohri celebrated Christmas. Managing Director Parneesh Mahajan, Liaison Officer Harvinder Singh Sihotra, Principal Manikarnika Bhasin, Co-ordinator Kawaljeet Kour and staff members were present on the occasion. The celebration started with a special assembly in which the students of higher classes highlighted the concept behind the Christmas celebrations. A Christmas tree was decorated on the occasion. The toddlers attired as Santa Claus and fairies presented cultural items. The youngsters presented Christmas carols and Jingle Bells in their melodious voice.
Christmas was celebrated at St Xavier Convent Senior Secondary School, Barnai. On the occasion, HR Padha, Director of the school along with Rev Udhay Singh, Priest St Paul’s Church Residency Road, SM Gill, Ex- MLC, Ram Khajuria, Senior Vice President Tawi Trackers and Principal Pankaj Vihans inaugurated different food stalls.
Government Higher Secondary School (Camp) Bohri, Jammu celebrated Christmas and New Year with gaiety and zeal. Many students delivered speeches about the birth of the Jesus Christ. Principal Ramesh Kumar Hakim while addressing the students and the staff members said that the message of love and compassion of ‘Jesus’ inspires millions of hearts and followers all over the world even today.
Humanity Public School, Bassi Kalan celebrated the Christmas. Various dances, songs, humming of the Christmas carols and qawalies by young ones were enjoyed by everyone with great applause. Santa too made a grand entry in the school premises packed with the children. Principal of the institution Gaurav Charak while speaking threw light on the importance of Christmas day.
May Fair School celebrated Christmas in its both branches at Janipur and Chand Nagar. Chairman Vijay Basur and Director Abhey Basur presided over the function at Chand Nagar and Janipur respectively. Students dressed as Santa Cluas and fairies, participated in fancy dress competition. A colourful cultural programme was also presented by the students. Principals of both the branches highlighted the importance of the festival.
Elite Public High School, Om Nagar, Udheywala celebrated Christmas. A colourful cultural progamme was presented by the toddlers, followed by dance items. Vice Principal Kiran Durani threw light on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. The best speech was given by Shruti Gupta, Aditya Singh and Megha Khatri.
Vishu Public School, Hari Nagar, Old Janipur celebrated Christmas. Preeti Bhasin, Advisor and Ex-Director of the school was the chief guest. A brief introductory note on life of Jesus Christ was given by BD Sharma, Principal of the school. A colourful programme was also presented by the students and staff of the school. Chairman of the School Raje was also present on the occasion.
Sai Shyam Public School celebrated Christmas. CL Tickoo, Chairman of the institution was the chief guest. All the students were attired in colourful dresses. A Christmas tree was decorated on the occasion. Some students impersonated as Santa Claus gave away gifts and sweets to the young children. The students of school sang songs, danced and performed some mini skits on the life of Jesus Christ which were highly appreciated by the Chief Guest. Principal Anita Raina was also present on the occasion.
Chenab Valley Public School celebrated Christmas and New Year. The programme started with inter-class quiz competition, followed by cultural programme. Principal Dheeraj Thakur in his speech threw light on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.
Kidzee Pre School celebrated Christmas in its branches at Anand Nagar Bohri, Gandhi Nagar, Channi Himmat and Talab Tillo. The celebration started with a special assembly in which the kids were given demonstration depicting the birth of “Jesus Christ”. The toddlers were dressed as Santa Claus and fairies. On the occasion, a trip to church was also organized to make kids aware about the festival.
Indira Kids Play Way School, Shant Nagar, Janipur celebrated Christmas with enthusiasm. On the occasion, students dressed as Santa Claus and fairies distributed gifts among the students and staff members.
Apple Kids International Pre-School, Bantalab organized a colouring competition to celebrate Christmas. Clad in colourful and specially designed Christmas dresses, the young students danced on the tunes of popular songs. Students sang Christmas carols and gave an eye-catching performance while dancing on the tunes of “Jingle Bells”. Principal of the school, Puja Sharma was also present on the occasion.
Little Millennium Pre Schools celebrated Christmas in its schools at Roop Nagar and Gandhi Nagar. The little angels aged between 2 to 6 years were dressed as Santa Claus and Christmas carols were sung by them. Depicting the true essence of love, joy and peace, children enjoyed the live depiction of Christmas Crib. Director of the schools Akhila Sharma educated the children about the importance of festival.
Flower Kids Nursery School, Talab Tillo celebrated Christmas. Keshav Chopra, BJYM secretary general district Jammu West was the chief guest. Students and Staff reflected upon the teachings of Jesus Christ and his life. The tiny tots of the School sang carols. The students attired as Santa Claus attracted the attention of the audience. The children sang in very festive mood “Jingle Bells” and danced to the numbers like “We wish you a Merry Christmas” etc. Snow man was made and gifts were distributed. Santa Clause came in the middle of the function and the children hung around him and danced with him. Christmas cake was cut by the Principal of the school Vijay Lakshmi.
Aglow Kids Play Way School, Door Darshan Lane, Tali Morh, Janipur celebrated Christmas with fanfare and zeal. The kids attired as Santa Claus and fairies participated in cultural items. Principal of the institution apprised the students about the importance of the festival.
