EDB conducts financial literacy camp

JAMMU, May 12: Ellaqaui Dehati Bank (EDB), Nai Basti (Satwari) District Jammu branch conducted a financial literacy camp at their allocated Village Khaskhan (Dharp) district Jammu today. The objective of the camp was to synchronise it with providing financial access and thus linking the financially excluded section with the banking system under Government of India Financial Inclusion Program.
Besides Branch officials and villagers, B L Bhat, Regional Manager, Jammu attended the camp. In his address Mr Bhat explained about management of money, importance of savings, advantages of saving with banks, other facilities provided by banks and benefits of borrowing from banks. He also emphasized the need for availing KCC loans so that the farmers could get extra yield by imparting good quality seeds and manures.
Well formulated Financial Literacy material in pictorial as well as text mode for creating financial awareness was displayed at the camp which the villagers found highly informative and appreciated the steps taken by the Bank in this direction.
A. K. Razdan, Chairman of the Bank in a message has appreciated the conducting of financial literacy camp by the Branch Manager,  M L Radhu and disclosed that the Bank will provide KCC loans, hassle free, at cheaper rates at their doorsteps.
