KARGIL, Dec 3: Executive Councilor for Zanskar Affairs Er Phunsog Tashi presented a charter of demands before the Corps Commander 14 Corps, Lieutenant General Harinder Singh who along with the Brigade Commander Artillery Brigade Kargil N S Sohal visited Padum today.
The demands projected included the intervention of Army to expedite in execution of Nimmu Padum Darcha road, establishment of Army Brigade at Padum, construction of Army airport at Zanskar, enhancement of Sadhbavana funding for Zanskar and other related issues.
Corps Commander 14 Corps while giving a patient hearing to the demands assured the EC that all issues would be given due consideration and all genuine concerns would be fulfilled on priority.
Earlier, the Executive Councilor on behalf of the local population of Zanskar extended warm welcome to the Corps Commander and Brigade Commander Artillery Brigade Kargil at helipad Padum on their visit to the Sub Division.
Meanwhile, the Officer Commanding 34 Field Regiment Padum and Commanding Officer 126 RCC GREF Padum apprised the Corps Commander about the overall security situation and progress of road construction by the Army in Zanskar Sub Division.
