EC defers visit

JAMMU, Jan 27: The Election Commission of India has deferred its two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir, scheduled for January 27 and 28 in view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tour to all three regions of the State on February 3.
The full Commission, headed by Chief Election Commissioner, Sunil Arora will now visit the State after the Prime Minister’s tour, sources said.
The Election Commission is scheduled to meet top officials of civil and police administration besides its representatives in the State to review situation and decide whether to hold Assembly elections in the State simultaneously with Lok Sabha polls or defer them.
