JAMMU, July 28: For highlighting their grievances and issues, e-rickshaw operators in Jammu took out a massive rally here today and submitted a memorandum of their demands to the senior BJP leaders at the party headquarters in Trikuta Nagar.
Under the banner of ‘Shri Mata Vaishno Devi e-rickshaw Union’ the rally was led by the Union President Gourav Kapoor, who said that the union was sincerely working to promote the concept of “Green Corridor”, but some issues were confronting the e-rickshaw operators.
They were demanding that a comprehensive e-vehicle police should be framed for JK UT and the Zone related order issued by the Administration should be kept in abeyance until permanent policy of e-vehicles is framed.
They alleged unnecessary harassment by Transport Department as well as Traffic Police and demanded a check on the same. They also demanded that e-rickshaw stands should be immediately allotted.
Carrying a banner and shouting slogans for green energy as well as in support of their demands, the union members assembled at Trikuta Nagar Main Market and marched towards the BJP office where a memorandum of demands was submitted to the senior party leaders. The Union hoped positive response on their demands.
