SRINAGAR, July 22: Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh today directed the executing agencies to expedite the work on R-APDRP-II so that the people get benefited from this scheme ment for augmentation of power infrastructure in the State.
The Deputy Chief Minister was addressing officers during a review meeting convened to discuss the status of implementation of phase-II of RAPDRP in the State. It was attended by Principal Secretary Power, Sandeep Nayak, Development Commissioner (Power) Asgar Ali, Chief Engineers, Commissioner Municipal Corporation, Jammu Saujanya Sharma and representatives of IRCON and other executing agencies.
The Deputy Chief Minister directed the officers to ensure time bound completion of the Scheme which would go a long way in ensuring the proper augmentation of electricity infrastructure in the State and would contribute a lot in solving the power related problems of the people.
Dr. Singh said that he had earlier taken up the matter of the slow implementation of the scheme with the Union Minister of Railways, Suresh Prabhu who had assured early completion of the scheme as it is being executed by IRCON which is a subsidiary of the railways.
“The Union Minister has assured early completion of the scheme in the State so that the requisite augmentation of power infrastructure takes place and in this regard he has already passed the requisite instructions to the concerned”, he maintained
The Deputy Chief Minister asked the IRCON authorities to maintain close liaison with the PDD, Municipal Corporations and other related departments so that the bottlenecks if any in the implementation of the scheme are removed and it is speeded up. He also directed for taking regular review meetings, so that the pace of the scheme can be monitored on a regular basis and effective feedback obtained.
Later, a deputation of power employees led by MLA, Kathua ,Rajiv Jasrotia met the deputy Chief Minister and raised the issue of long pending demand of regularization of the daily wagers who have completed more than seven years.
Legislators R.S.Pathania, Charanjeet Singh Khalsa and Surinder Ambardar alo met the Deputy Chief Minister and raised various power related issues.
The Deputy Chief Minister also met the deputation of the power employees led by Shakti Gupta who projected various demands including regularization of Daily Rated Workers, pending wages of daily wagers of District Kathua, Jammu, holding of DPC of all categories after every six months and promotion of technical qualified staff etc.
The Deputy Chief Minister assured the deputations that all there genuine demands would be redressed in a time bound manner.
