Dy CEC reviews status of languishing projects

LEH, Nov 15: The Deputy Chairman, LAHDC, Leh Gyal P Wangyal today convened a meeting to ensure earliest approval and execution of languishing projects worth Rs 170 crore approved by Governor for Leh district in the first phase recently.
The meeting was attended by all the Executive Councilors (EC) including EC for Health Tsering Sandup, EC for Agriculture Phunchok Stanzin, EC for Minority Affairs Mumtaz Hussain and all the Councillors with Executive Engineers of PWD, Leh headed by SE PWD, Leh S K Pandita at Council Secretariat today.
Addressing the meeting, Dy CEC Gyal P Wangyal read out all the languishing projects of Leh district projected by respective Counicllors in detail and invited their views and suggestion for earliest execution of these projects. He said that in the first phase of languishing projects a total of 62 projects are proposed, likewise in second phase a total of 68 projects and in third phase about 200 projects are proposed.
Dy CEC urged upon all the Councilors to submit left out projects of their constituencies to the concerned Executive Engineers at the earliest.
ECs and Councilors expressed disappointment for delay in “Accord of Administrative Approval” (AAA) for almost all the proposed projects under languishing projects by the concerned Executive Engineers.
Dy CEC Gyal P Wangyal on spot directed SE PWD Leh, Exn. R&B, Exn. Construction, Exn. PHE, Exn. I&FC, Exn Special Sub Division, Khaltsi, Nubra and Nyoma to complete AAA of all the proposed projects by December 15 and no excuse will be accepted after the dateline failing which strict action will be initiated against concerned engineers and officials.
