JAMMU, Feb 12: National Conference (NC) Women’s Wing held meetings at Chinore and Keran Bantalab here under the leadership of Women Wing president, Laxmi Dutta.
During these meetings Mrs Dutta distributed atta among the women belonging to BPL category. At Chinore meeting 70 bags of atta were distributed among the women while at Keran 35 bags were distributed.
Addressing these meetings Mrs Dutta apprised the women of the Beti Anmol Scheme launched by State Coalition Government led by Omar Abdullah. She said under the scheme Finance Minister Abdul Rahim Rather has announced Rs 30,000 in the recent budget for a girl child belonging to a BPL family for her marriage.
She said Coalition Government has taken many steps for the welfare of people belonging to weaker and downtrodden sections of the society and urged the women to take advantage of these schemes.
