JAMMU, Dec 7: Durga Nagar Welfare Committee in a meeting today held under the leadership of Roshan Lal Raina, its president and Ravinder Bakshi, chairman and discussed various problems of displaced Kashmiri Pandits.
The meeting made an appeal to Additional Chief Secretary, Finance, Atal Dulloo to release the budget for medical cases to Relief Organization for the displaced people as some diseases are not covered under Ayushman Bharat scheme.
The meeting demanded that Relief Organisation be provided sufficient budget so that the zonal offices are provided infrastructural facilities.
It said that the water supply problem in Durga Nagar and other localities is prolonging due to power shutdown for last three days. The meeting made an appeal to Chief Engineer M&RE not to impose power cuts on essential services. It also made an appeal to Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha urging him to pass directives to concerned engineers in this regard as power shutdowns are effecting water supply.
It also demanded starting of pre mixing work in the area and made an appeal to R&B authorities in this regard. It also demanded enhancement of relief to migrants and urged the UT Government to submit a proposal to Union Government in this regard.
