JAMMU, May 25: The inhabitants of Durga Nagar Sector One are facing acute power crisis for over one month due to the failure of the Power Development Department (PDD) in providing a separate transformer in the area.
In a statement the residents of the area said that due to failure of PDD authorities to provide a separate transformer in the locality they are facing acute power crisis as electricity makes hide and seek daily. They said there is power cut for hours together some times because the transformer wherefrom their locality is supplied electricity often develops snag due to increasing load.
Prof Fotedar, Vinod Dhar, Vinod Pandita and Rakesh Pandita said that despite umpteen requests to concerned PDD authorities they failed to solve the problem by installing a separate transformer in their mohalla which is inhabited by over 30 families. They urged the authorities to look into the problems as routine power crisis has added to the problems of old and infirm in this scorching heat.
