Durga Nagar residents’ concern over power, water crisis

JAMMU, May 15: A meeting of Durga Nagar Welfare Committee was held here, today under the chairmanship of Roshan Lal Rana in which an appeal was made to Power Minister Sunil Sharma and Chief Engineer, M & RE to ensure the better power supply in the area which is facing sever power cuts for last fortnight.
The meeting among others was attended by Chaman Lal Zutshi, Behari Lal, Bushan Lal Pandita, A K Bazaz, Nana Ji Razdan, Mohan Lal Pandita, Badri Nath and Kaka Ji in which grave concern was expressed over the prevailing power crisis in the area.
They said that some times the power remains off in the area for entire night putting people to many hardships and miseries in this Summer.
The meeting said the power curtailments for long duration has added to the woes of old and infirm, small kids as well as the school and college going students who can’t read in the darkness. The power supply has also affected water supply in the area.
The meeting also expressed concern that the RTO Jammu despite his assurances has failed to provide matador facilities to the people of area.
