JAMMU, Sept 12: A deputation of Durga Nagar Welfare Committee met Municipal Commissioner, Jammu, and apprised him of various problems being faced by the residents of the locality.
President of the committee, who was leading the deputation, told the Commissioner that estimates of many works regarding construction work of lanes and roads are pending in his office from last six months due to which the development of the area has come to standstill.
The Commissioner was also informed that most of the street lights are damaged in the locality but despite making many requests to XEn and AEE concerned, lights were neither replaced nor repaired.
The deputation also informed the Commissioner that the residents of the locality are suffering badly due to prolonging water supply gap and urged him to take up the matter with Chief engineer PHE and SE PHE so that the residents may get regular water supply.
The JMC Commissioner gave a patient hearing to the deputation and assured that all the problems highlighted by it will be resolved on priority basis.
Behari Lal, Mohan Lal Pandita, Bharat Bushan Goswami, Makhan Lal Bhat, Bhushan Lal Pandita and CL Zutshi were part of the deputation.
