Dunandi-Bunjwah road in deplorable condition, people suffer

DODA, May 19: The Dunandi-Bunjwah road in this district is in deplorable condition since one decade giving tough time to the residents.
While speaking, the residents said that this road is in dilapidated condition for the past 10 years due to the lackadaisical attitude of the concerned officials.

Due to the worst condition of the road, the people particularly the patients and pregnant women have to face tough time to reach Sub District Hospital Thathri.
“This road connects many villages of Bunjwah with rest of the areas of the district, but no steps have been taken for its up keep”, the residents added.
The road gives tough time to commuters and the authorities are in deep slumber, said Shafkat Shaheen, a local resident.
The locals said that some years ago, the work for upgradation of the road was handed over to PMGSY but no steps have been taken till today, adding that the authorities were apprised many times about the condition of the road, but they have turned deaf ears.
The residents of Bunjwah, Patnazi, Buddhar Kither, Partshalla and villages have appealed to the Governor’s administration to look into the matter and get the issue resolved so as to provide succor to them especially patients and pregnant women.
The villagers threatened to gherao the PMGSY office and block Batate-Kishtwar highway at Thathri if the construction work of the road is not completed at the earliest.
