JAMMU, Oct 10: Financial Commissioner (FC) Health and Medical Education Department, Atal Dulloo today paid a visit to Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar, Jammu and inspected the facilities being provided to COVID patients there as it is a designated COVID Hospital of level 2.
Accompanied by Director Health Services, Jammu, Dr Renu Sharma, the FC visited different sections of the Hospital including newly installed ICU in old block of the Hospital and various wards. He interacted with the attendants of the patients admitted in the hospital and enquired about the facilities being provided in the Hospital, besides visits of doctors in the wards.
Medical Superintendent of the hospital, LD Bhagat, apprised the FC about the services being provided to COVID patients in the hospital. He informed that till date, 583 COVID patients have been treated successfully in the hospital. Dulloo was informed that the hospital has done 99 Cesarean and 19 normal deliveries of COVID patients while 127 patients were given dialysis.
The FC was also informed that till date 11,179 Rapid Antigen Tests and 341 TrueNAT tests have been done in the Hospital while samples of 22,103 patients were taken and send for RTPCR test in the dedicated laboratories. Besides this, blood transfusion was done on 35 COVID patients while 1487 lab tests (except COVID test) of COVID patients were also done.
Bhagat further told Dulloo that chest CT scan was done on 45 COVID patients, USG for fetal well being on 37 patients, and ECGs on 30 COVID patients. It was also informed to the Financial Commissioner that in the interest of patient care, Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar has started its OPD services for Eye, ENT and Ortho disciplines at Rajiv Gandhi Hospital from September 28 while the Pain and Palliative Care OPD is continue at Government Hospital, Gandhi Nagar.
