JAMMU, Oct 10: Deputy Mayor, Purnima Sharma started the developmental work in Ward No.1 by laying foundation stone for the construction of drain from Tange Wali Gali to Chowk Chabutra which was an old pending demand of the locals there and Rs. 19 lakh have been approved for this project. Karan Singh, Jammu District Vice President of BJP; Praveen Kerni, BJP Mandal President; Shubh Lata Sharma, Jammu District General Secretary Mahila Morcha BJP and others also accompanied the Deputy Mayor.
Speaking on the occasion, Purnima Sharma said, developmental works in the city were delayed due to COVID pandemic and lockdown triggered by it.
“Now everything is back on track and developmental work in different Wards has been started which will soon be completed,” she said.
The Deputy Mayor also listened to the demands of the locals and asked them not to wander out of their homes unnecessarily as COVID-19 cases are still on the rise.
She asked the locals gathered there only to go out when it is very important.
The Deputy Mayor also stressed on wearing masks and maintaining social distancing at public places.
