JAMMU, Apr 13: Dogra Sadar Sabha (DSS) organized the Duggar Mela-2026 in the Sabha Bhawan, Dogra Hall Jammu in collaboration with J&K Academy of Art, Culture and languages.
G A Khatana, MP (Rajya Sabha) was the chief guest while Yudhvir Sethi, MLA Jammu East, was the guest of honour.
The welcome address was delivered by H C Jalmeria, Gen Secretary DSS. Working President, DSS, Gambhir Dev Singh Charak highlighted the aim and gave details of the Duggar Mela.
Col Karan Singh, President DSS, explained the charter of the Sabha in general. He reaffirmed that DSS is committed to carry forward the mission of Th. Gulchain Singh Charak.
G A Khatana, in his address, richly appreciated the efforts of the DSS in maintaining regional harmony and assured all help for the social activities to the DSS.
Yudhvir Sethi, while recalling the selfless efforts of Th Gulchain Singh Charak for promoting the Dogri language, culture, heritage, etc, assured his continued cooperation to DSS in achieving its goals.
Prominent among others who spoke on the occasion included, Shabir Khan, former minister; Adv Sheikh Shakeel, Bhavanyu Bhagat, Tanishq and Akhileshwar.
The entertainment programme that followed included a song by students of Rich Harvest School followed by performances of Dogra Orchestra by Rakesh Anand, a Punjabi presentation by Darshan Patka Party & Shamsher & party, Basheer Mastana, Asha Kesar. It concluded in a lively Bhangra by school children. The cultural items were coordinated by Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional General Secretary Dogra Sadar Sabha.
The proceedings of the program were conducted by Janaj Khajuria whereas G A Khwaja presented the vote of thanks.
