DSS demands opening of road near Civil Sectt

JAMMU, Feb 11: Dogra Sadar Sabha (DSS) has demanded opening of road from Dogra Hall to Ranbireshwar Temple on Shalamar Road as the public is facing lot of hardships.
In a meeting  of office bearers and members of Dogra Sadar Sabha, J&K, led by its president and former Minister  Gulchain Singh Charak, with  Parvez Dewan, Advisor to Governor, DSS demanded immediate opening of road from Dogra Hall to Shri Ranbireshwar Mandir passing in front of Secretariat gate which has not only divided this heritage city but also made land mark site displaying the statues of Raja Jambulochan along with tiger & goat, inaccessible to the general public and visitors, especially pilgrims coming from outside the State.
This has also caused lots of difficulties to the general public in their day today activities besides being big hurdle for the lakhs of pilgrims who want to visit the historical and famous Shri Ranbireshwar Temple.
They also discussed various other burning issues of public importance which included revival of Jammu festival and to celebrate it with its original glory, to expedite the work on Mubarak Mandi Complex and to review the progress made in this regard, to examine the Mubarak Mandi, Bagh-e- Bahu Cable Car Project and take necessary steps to streamline the same to make worthwhile, take necessary measures for starting Duggar Channel on the pattern of  Kashir Channel from Doordarshan Kendra, Jammu and to review the functioning of Kala-Kendra Jammu which has already been agreed upon by the representatives of Prasar Bharati and Union Ministry for I&B.
The Advisor listened to the members patiently and assured to take action on the issues raised in the meeting.
