JAMMU, July 29: President, Dogra Sadar Sabha (DSS), Gulchain Singh Charak has expressed concern over the damage caused to the State Protected Monument of Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex due to ongoing monsoon rains and the concerned authorities paying no attention towards this.
After visiting the Heritage Complex, Charak said that DSS has been repeatedly impressing upon the Government and even to J&K LG to get the work of renovation and repairs of the Heritage Complex expedited before it is too late.
He claimed that walls of the Rani Guleri Mehal and Raja Amar Singh Queen’s Mehal crumbled under the impact of recent rains a day before.
“What the agencies engaged for renovation and restoration of the complex were doing,” Charak asked making an appeal J&K LG, Manoj Sinha to visit the Heritage Complex at an earliest and seek detailed information from the concerned executing agencies and see that the work of repair and renovation of Mubarak Mandi Complex is carried out as per the norms of protected monuments.
He also appealed to the concerned authorities to take proper measures to save the precious heritage of Dogras after taking all necessary steps otherwise this whole complex can crumble during these heavy rains.
