Drug peddlers held with psychotropic substances

Srinagar, July 19: Police today said to have arrested 2 drug peddlers in Budgam and Bandipora and recovered Psychotropic substances from their possession.
In Budgam, police said that the officers of the Police Post Narbal at a checkpoint near Jamia Masjid Narbal intercepted one person who was moving in a suspicious manner identified as Khazer Mohd Sheikh s/o Sanahual Sheikh, a resident of Bazar Mohallah Narbal.
During checking, officers were able to recover 172 grams of charas from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to the police station where he remains in custody.
Similarly in Bandipora, police said, a police party of Police Post Aloosa under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Bandipora at a checkpoint established at Quilmuqam Aloosa intercepted one person identified as Fida Hussain Mir son of Mohammad Shaban Mir resident of Ward No 06, Bandipora.
During checking, police said, officers were able to recover 300 Proxywel Spos tablets. He has been arrested and shifted to the police station where he remains in custody.
“Preliminary investigation reveals that the recovered drugs were meant to be supplied to the youth of the area to make them drug addicts,” police said.
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of the law have been registered in respective Police Stations and further investigations have been initiated.
