Drug peddlers arrested with heroin, ganja

JAMMU, Nov 12: Narwal and Jourian Police arrested an absconder and recovered heroin and ganja from their possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Police Post Narwal led by PSI Sunil Singh under the supervision of SHO Bahu Fort Inspector Deepak Pathania and SDPO East Sajad Sarwar laid a naka at Rajeev Nagar Chowk and intercepted a person, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered 8 grams heroin from the possession of the person and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Vishal Kumar alias Kagla, son of Mangat Ram, a resident of Rajeev Nagar District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 368/2021 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment and other persons involved in this illegal trade.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Post Jourian led by Inspector Kunal Singh Jamwal under the supervision of SHO Akhnoor Hilal Azhar apprehended a drug peddler along with ganja.
The arrested person was identified as Bupinder, son of AK Sahu, a resident of Chattisgarh, at present Gari Jourian District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 286/2021 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Akhnoor and investigation started.
