Srinagar, May 21: Police today arrested a drug peddler in Handwara and recovered Charas from his possession.
A police party of Police Station Qalamabad at a checkpoint established at Market Qalamabad, intercepted a suspicious person who tried to flee from the spot after noticing the police party but was apprehended tactfully.
As per police, he has been identified as Asif Ahmad War son of Gh Ahmad resident of Audoora Qalamabad. During the search, around 60 grams of Charas were recovered from his possession.
Accordingly, police said, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in PS Qalamabad and an investigation has been initiated.
