SRINAGAR, Oct 3: A drug-peddler was arrested in Bijbehara area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district and huge quantity of prescription drugs were recovered from him.
A police spokesman said a police party in Tulkhan village near By-pass area found one person carrying a jute sac in suspicious circumstances. “The police party tried to stop him but he fled away from the spot leaving behind a sac containing 175 bottles of Ran-codex (Codeine Phosphate),” the spokesman said, adding the accused was soon arrested and was identified as Javid Ahmad Dar.
“A case under FIR number192/2015 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS was registered and investigation was taken up,” the spokesman added.
