UDHAMPUR, Dec 21: Police today arrested a drug peddler and recovered 20 kilograms of poppy straw from his possession.
Police spokesman said that, police and CRPF personnel intercepted a Jammu bound truck bearing registration number JKO2AE-4211 at Karal Nallah, Kud.
During checking, police recovered 20 kg of poppy straw and arrested the driver identified as Subash Chander, son of Sai Dass of Village Sungal, Tehsil Akhnoor, Jammu.
A case under FIR number 124/ 12 under Section 8/ 15 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Kud Police Station and investigation started.
