JAMMU, Dec 21: While demanding capital punishment for rape, the State Commission for Women (SCW) has condemned Delhi gang-rape incident and another rape incident of 13- year-old girl, which took place at Domana in Jammu recently.
The State Commission’s chairperson- Shamim Firdous while taking serious note of the rising graph of such incidents, termed it as grave violation of human rights. While condemning the recent incidents strongly, Ms Firdous said that these heinous and unhuman acts being committed upon this vulnerable section of society, put the victim in severe shock and depression throughout her life.
She stressed the need to make the laws more stringent by awarding capital punishment to the accused persons so that this kind of crime could be contained in future.
