Drug peddler arrested with opium

JAMMU, July 9: Gangyal Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered 3 kilograms of opium from his possession.
As per police sources, a team from Police Station Gangyal led by SHO Inspector Joginder Singh Chib under the supervision of SDPO South Sachit Sharma and SP South Mamta Sharma laid a naka at Kunjwani chowk and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK02AV-8157, which was coming from Kathua towards Gangyal.
During checking, police team recovered 3 kilograms opium from the truck and arrested the driver, who was identified as Ramandeep Singh, son of Chanchal Singh of Ward Number 1 Simbal Camp District Jammu.
A case FIR Number 77/22 under section 8/18 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Gangyal and investigation started.
