JAMMU, Dec 19: Digiana police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested a drug peddler and recovered 50 grams of heroin from his possession, a police official said.
The accused has been identified as Rayees Ahmed Shah, son of Ghulam Mustafa of Brawari, District Kupwara.
A case under FIR Number 286/18 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Digiana Police Post SI Kali Charan and assisted by HC Rehmatullah made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Gandhi Nagar Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia, SDPO South Dr Sunniya Ashkoor Wani, SP South Vinay Kumar and DIG JKS Range/SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
