Drug peddler arrested with heroin

KATHUA, May 3: Kathua police under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua, RC Kotwal, while acting tough against drug peddlers and its propagators in the district, recovered Heroin like substance in the JD of Police Station Billawar along with accused were arrested and seized the contraband on spot.
Police said that today a team of Police Post (PP) Ramkot on Naka checking duty on Galak-Dayalachack road intercepted one car bearing Registration Number DL4CAF-8404 which was on its way from Dayalachack towards Challan-Ramkot being driven by Simranjeet Singh son of Surjit Singh of Nijjer tehsil Dera Baba Nanak district Gurdaspur, Punjab and other two persons who were also travelling in the said car including Mohd Ramzan son of Nazir Ahmed of Gurah-Kalyal tehsil Ramkot district Kathua who is working as Patwari in Patwar Halqa Gurah Kalyal. Arshdeep Singh son of Balraj Singh of Fazlabad tehsil Batala district Gurdaspur-Punjab. On physical search police team recovered 12 grams heroin like substance from their possession.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 68/2021 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Billawar. Accused were arrested and further investigation is in progress.
