JAMMU, Mar 12: Nowabad police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested a drug peddler and recovered cannabis from his possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Nowabad Police Station laid a naka near JP Chowk and intercepted a pedestrian, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered around 800 grams of cannabis from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Mohammad Salim Ganie, son of Mohammad Khazir Ganie, a resident of Bijbehara, District Anantnag.
A case under FIR Number 27/19 under section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Nowabad and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Nowabad Inspector Neeraj Bhagat made the arrest under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Sheema Nabi and SP City Amritpal Singh.
