REASI, Jan 5: Katra police arrested a drug peddler and recovered 200 grams cannabis from his possession.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Katra Police Station laid a naka near Aghar Jitto and asked a pedestrian to stop for checking as he was moving under suspicious circumstances.
On seeing police cops, the pedestrian tried to escape, but the cops chased and nabbed him.
During checking, police recovered 200 grams cannabis from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Davinder Sharma, son of Dev Raj, a resident of Gunni Parthal, Tehsil Katra, District Reasi.
A case under FIR Number 4/19 under section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Katra and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment and other persons involved in this illegal trade.
Police team led SI Suman Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Katra Inspector Surinder Singh Sambyal, SDPO Katra Vivek Shekhar, Additional SP Katra Naresh singh and SSP Reasi Nisha Nathyal.
