Drug peddler arrested with poppy straw

RAMBAN, Sept 14: Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered 100 kilograms of poppy straw.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Ramban Police Station laid a naka and intercepted a truck bearing registration number PB07AS-3395.
During checking, police recovered 100 kilograms of poppy straw concealed in apple boxes and arrested one person, who has been identified as Raju Masi son of Sat Pal, a resident of Gurdaspur, Punjab.
A case under FIR Number 138/18 under Section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Ramban Police Station and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment.
Police team led by SHO Ramban Inspector Vijay Kotwal made the arrest under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Ramban Asgar Malik, Additional SP Ramban Sanjay Parihar and SSP Ramban Anita Sharma.
