JAMMU, June 29: Bus Stand police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested a drug peddler and recovered large quantity of intoxicant tablets.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Bus Stand Police Station laid a naka at Indira Chowk and intercepted a pedestrian.
During checking, police recovered 6000 intoxicant tablets from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Sameer Malhotra, son of Satish Malhotra, a resident of Purani Mandi Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 36/18 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Bus Stand Police Station and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment.
Police team led by SHO Bus Stand Inspector Rajesh Jasrotia made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO City Varun Jandial, Incharge SP City Vinay Sharma and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
