JAMMU, Nov 2: Gandhi Nagar police under “Operation Sanjeevani” arrested a drug peddler and recovered 1.400 kilograms of cannabis from his possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Gandhi Nagar Police Station laid a naka near Green Belt and intercepted a pedestrian, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police recovered 1.400 kilograms of cannabis from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Shafqat Hussain alias Ranja, son of Ghulam Nabi Malik of Dharhal Chowkian, District Rajouri.
A case under FIR Number 241/18 under section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Gandhi Nagar Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia and assisted by HC Mushtaq Ahmed made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO South Dr Sunniya Ashkoor Wani, SP South Vinay Kumar and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
