Drug peddler arrested, 4 vehicles involved in illegal mining seized

JAMMU, July 23: Domana Police arrested a drug peddler along with heroin, while Kanachack, Canal Road and Chatha Police seized four vehicles involved in illegal mining.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Police Station Domana led by SHO Inspector Mahesh Sharma and assisted by PSI Nitish Khajuria laid a naka and apprehended a drug peddler along with 5 grams of heroin.
The arrested person was identified as Sam Bhatti, son of Ravi Bhatti, a resident of Valmiki Colony, Gandhi Nagar District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 199/2021 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Domana and investigation started.
The overall arrest and recovery were made under the supervision of SDPO Domana Kosheen Koul and SP Rural Sanjay Sharma.
Meanwhile, teams from Police Station Kanachack led by SHO Inspector Vishav Pratap Singh, Police Post Canal Road led by SI Ravinder Singh and Police Post Chatha led by Inspector Rakesh Roshan raided different locations in their respective areas and seized four different vehicles involved in illegal mining.
The mining was being done in violation of order of High Court of J&K.
In order to strictly implement the drive against illegal mining and to tighten noose against the violators of the law, Jammu Police has initiated strict action.
