JAMMU, Feb 7: Jhajjar Kotli police arrested drivers of two vehicles for smuggling bovine animals to Valley.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Jhajjar Kotli police station laid a naka near Suketar and signaled two Tata Mobile vehicles bearing registration number JK02BH-7486 and JK02AC-6395 to stop.
During checking, police rescued 4 bovine animals from the vehicles and arrested the drivers.
The accused have been identified as Nazakat Ahmed, son of Mohammad Din of Kala Kuppar, Nagrota and Mohammad Rafiq, son of Mohammad Amin of District Ramban.
They were trying to smuggle bovine animals to Valley, but their bid was foiled by the cops of Jhajjar Kotli police.
A case under FIR Number 17/16 under Section 188 RPC and 3/5 PCA Act has been registered at police station Jhajjar Kotli and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Jhajjar Kotli police station Inspector Ravinder Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Bharat Bhushan Sharma, SP Rural Rajiv Pandey and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
