ABKM holds meet, discusses demands

JAMMU, Feb 7:  A meeting of “Akhil Bharatiya Kshatriya Mahasabha” (ABKM)  J&K unit  was held today under the presidentship of Ravi Singh Slathia.
Various speakers expressing their views demanded that “Dogra Certificate” should be issued in favour of Dogra youth so that they are able to get the benefits available for them by being Dogra in the recruitment of Belt Forces. They also demanded that reservation to the deserved people be given on economic basis instead of caste basis.
Ravi Singh Slathia, president of Sabha speaking on the occasion, urged the Government to direct all the Deputy Commissioners of the State to issue the Dogra Certificate in favour of Dogra Youth and fulfill the other demands mentioned in the memorandum already submitted to the Governor, forthwith, otherwise Rajput Community will be left with no other alternative except to launch an agitation in this regard.
He further demanded that the Centre and State Governments should start special recruitment drive for the youth living in the Kandi and other difficult areas of the province as they have no other source of income for their livelihood.
Amrik Singh Karamyogi, vice president, Pawan Singh Manhas, Rashpal Singh Chib and Ajit Singh besides large number of Biradari members of the area participated.
Prominent among those who were present in the meeting included  Jasbir Singh, Faquir Singh, Satish Singh, Pawan Singh, Rajinder Singh, Parshotam Singh, Deedar Singh, Mohinder Singh, Shashi Pal Singh, Karan Singh,  Varinder Singh, Shanker Singh, Surat Singh and others.
