JAMMU, Feb 28: Police today arrested a bus driver along with 5 kilograms of poppy straw.
A police spokesman said that, on specific inputs, police team from Bagh-e-Bahu police station laid a naka near Kalka Colony and intercepted a bus bearing registration number JK-02 AA-8079.
During checking, police recovered five kilograms of poppy straw and arrested the driver, who has been identified as Jasbir Singh, son of Rudha Singh of Kotli Arjun Singh, RS Pura.
A case under FIR number 16/14 under Section 8/15 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at police station Bagh-e-Bahu and investigation started.
