RAMBAN, June 28: Banihal police arrested a driver along with 4 bags having 2 quintals of mid day meal rice.
As per police sources, a team from Banihal police station during checking at Krawa bridge intercepted a van bearing registration number JK03E-2478.
During checking, police recovered 2 quintals of mid day meal rice concealed in 4 bags from the vehicle and arrested the driver, who has been identified as Altaf Hussain Mir, son of Mohammad Akbar Mir of Nowgam Tehsil Banihal.
During questioning, the driver revealed that the rice bags were loaded in his van by a Government teacher namely Javid Ahmed Dar, son of Abdul Gani Dar of Krawa tehsil Banihal from a Government School at Krawa and had been asked to deliver the same in the house of Headmaster namely Javid Ahmed of Danar Nowgam tehsil Banihal.
A case under FIR Number 90/17 under Section 409 RPC has been registered at police station Banihal and investigation started.
